The ironic fact about Australia is that it is one of the most remote countries on Earth yet is still a busy travel destination, especially among backpackers and budget travellers. Me and my friend were blessed to visit this Land Down under a couple of times now and trust me when I tell you this, we still can’t get enough of it! From the famous dinner cruises in Sydney to the legendary Uluru rock formation, Australia is the perfect blend of natural beauties and buzzing city life.

Sydney

The start point for many Aussie travellers, Sydney is a dream tourist destination. Renowned across the globe for its landmark Opera House and harbour, this Emerald City of Australia is home to a colossal bridge, incredible parks, exquisite cuisines, plenty of free things to do and many, many beaches! Sydney is a water city and whether you go to Bondi, Manly, or the lesser known Lady Martins Beach, this city oozes a laid-back vibe and is the perfect place to relax and enjoy a day soaking up the sun. Queensland

Urban jungle is a term I have come across many times while I traversed the many states of Australia and Queensland is an ideal example of it. We all have dreams of settling down. For me, when I grow old I like to simmer down in a lush, tropical area far from the busy sounds of the city. In Queensland, you can find many such places including some of the oldest tropical rainforests in the world. There’s tons of awesome places to go hiking, great wild and birdlife, many pristine rivers, mesmerising waterfalls and some blissful swimming spots to cool down. You can also find hidden camping sites as well, these are ideal to enjoy some ‘me time’, zone off to nature's sounds, be in sync with the calmness of trees and maybe even have an introspection with your own weightless thoughts! (watch out for spiders though!) For starters, you can head north to Cape Tribulation where an incredible combination of rainforests and beaches awaits!

Surf Scene

Surfing may have not been born here, but it developed very well as a culture here more than anywhere else in the world. Safe to say, it's in the blood of most Aussies to find a good wave and hit it. There are many spots across the East Coast where the waves are just about perfect for riding, and even if you're a beginner you can learn how to surf in no time with the help of professionals. Surf schools are a thing in popular beaches so it is pretty easy to find one. Personally I think Snappers Rock and Gold Coast are the best surf places as they have waves ideal for both professionals and beginners.

Great Barrier Reef (GBR)

The world’s largest coral reef system. Enough said. If you're keen on exploring the unknown aquatic and marine life on Earth, this is the place. Although Cairns is the popular getaway point, getting off from Port Douglas leads you to far less-crowded diving spots!
