We all wear clothes in our day-to-day life, but did you ever wonder where are they made? Textile means fabric. The clothes we see are the final product. Before that all the steps such as designing, development, manufacturing, and distribution takes place in the textile industry. Textile industry always plays an important role in the economy of any country due to many reasons.

Textile plays an essential part in export of any country. It contributes to almost 85% in Bangladesh, 61% in Pakistan, 12% in Turkey, and 11% in Egypt. It helps country gain foreign reserves, preventing them from taking loans. The countries useful raw material such as cotton can be used in textile industry, and then they are exported at a higher price.

Moreover, the textile industry provides many employment opportunities. It is a vast industry which has many sections of work. Starting from spinning, which is a process converting cotton or man-made fiber into yarn to be used for weaving and knitting. Then the second step is of weaving and knitting. This converts cotton, man-made, or blended yarns into woven or knitted fabrics. At last dyeing, printing, and some other designing is done. Then it is exported or sold to the clothing brands. Though most of the work is done by machinery, but all this process needs human to handle it. Also, in the weaving process hand loom work is done which requires a lot of labor. Even to check the final quality of printing and dyeing labor is much needed. This tells us how vast opportunities textile industry produces for people of any country, ending unemployment and hunger.

Furthermore, it produces opportunity for investors to invest in a good place. They get a lot of benefit as textile industry gives them huge profit. They use that money to invest in other places. Textile industry create products at cheaper cost. If someone has to buy clothes such as sarees, fancy dupatta or any other outfit which may be expensive if it is imported can be produced at low price in a country with textile industry. This will reduce the imports and help build economy.

Textile industry also supports thousands of farming families that helps in producing raw cotton. Many textile products are needed un farming. For example, Nonwoven fabric sheet for agricultural is allow water to pass from upper surface to inner surface because of hydrophilic treatment applied on surface.

The machine industry also gets huge benefits from textile industry. Many kinds of machinery are used in the textile industry that are handled by skilled workers.

In short textile industry is linked to many other industries as well. If the textile industry grows it helps other industries to expand as well. This helps boost a country’s economy.
