Gateway of India

A monument built by the British during colonial rule to welcome the then monarch of England in the beginning of 20th century. It is an arch monument built in the Indo-Saracenic architecture style overlooking the Arabian sea.

The Gateway of India is open for the public throughout the year. However the pleasant time to visit the place is in the morning and evening as the days are quite hot in Mumbai except in the monsoons.
