Only Bhima recognized the bull as Lord Shiva and tried to catch him by hitting the hind part of the bull with his mace. The temple history starts with the belief of the people that Lord Shiva appeared in the form of fire and took up residence at this place. How to reach Kedarnath from Delhi?

Kedarnath lies in the Himalayas, approximately 300 km from Delhi. The nearest airport is Jolly Grant airport. There is no direct route from Delhi to reach Kedarnath; however you can follow this route-Guruvayur, Haridwar or Rishikesh and then get a taxi or cab to reach Gaurikund. Once you reach Gaurikund, trekking of 18 km is needed to reach Kedarkantha trip valley. You can also opt for helicopter service if you want to avoid trekking.

There are two ways to reach Kedarnath from Delhi. One is via the Haridwar and Rishikesh route and other is via Gaurikund. Both these routes have different travel time, distance and overnight stay required.
