Escape rooms are more of a phenomenon in Canada, but they’re gaining popularity in the USA slowly and steadily. However, entering the obstacle course drunk isn’t a good idea.

There’s no way an individual can escape the popularity of the escape room in Canada. However, it doesn’t mean these establishments aren’t crowd-attractors anywhere else. Many of these places operating in the USA attract hundreds of adventurous people daily. Some of these establishments even have restaurants and bars for refreshment, meals, and, of course, partying!

A word of warning

You shouldn’t have any trouble finding escape rooms with alcohol, but here’s a word of warning from the experts and other people who’ve made this mistake in the past – avoid participating in an inebriated state. In reality, an escape bar and grill won’t allow customers to join after they’ve had a couple! You may be wondering why these places have bars then. You can always grab a drink after you finish playing the game.

Not fun at all

You may argue again by saying that entering one of the late night escape rooms will be much more enjoyable if you drink up first. However, you’ll have to solve puzzles to get out. Of course, you can simply sit and spend the entire time inside without doing anything, but you probably wouldn’t like it. Feeding the desire of solving tricky puzzles is the main reason why folks enter escape rooms. You may have a hard time cracking the riddles if you don’t have your wits about you.

Other considerations

Here are a few other things folks tend to do inside escape rooms under the influence of alcohol.

  1. Leaving with a souvenir: You’ll find various props inside to help you get to the bottom of the mystery. Some of them will look attractive to you, but you mustn’t make the mistake of pocketing one or more of them. You probably wouldn’t even dream about doing it. Then again, everyone tends to do stupid things when they’re drunk!
  1. Be careful with kids: Things can take a turn for the worse even if you aren’t drunk. Usually, such problems occur with kids. There have been reports of many families visiting these establishments and leaving with disappointment because their children panicked. It’s better to avoid the horror or thriller rooms when you bring small kids.
  1. May lead to romance: Individuals or a small group of people may get tagged along with other folks they don’t know. You’ll have to work with them as a team to complete the puzzle course, and the collaboration may lead to romance. There have been such instances in the past. However, if you want it to work, you’ll need to avoid alcohol before entering. You can drink as much as you can handle safely, after you escape.

To conclude

Well, there you have it – a few compelling reasons to stay away from the glass before entering an escape room. As mentioned several times, you can drink up once you get out. The bar and all that it has to offer can wait until you complete the ultimate objective of visiting one of these establishments – solving the puzzles.
