SATISFACTION

Customer level of approval when comparing a product perceived performance with his or her Expectation. Also could refer to discharge, extinguishments, or retirement of an obligation to the acceptance of the fulfillment of a claim. While satisfaction is sometimes equated with performance, it implies compensation or substitution whereas performance denotes doing what was actually promised. See also accord and satisfaction.

A term frequently used in marketing, is a measure of how product and services supplied by a company meet expectation. Customer satisfaction the number of customer, or percentage of Total customer, whose reported experience with a firm, its product, or its service (ratings) exceeds specified satisfaction goals.

Many firm are interested in understanding what their customer through about their shopping or purchase experience, because finding new customer difficult then servicing existing or repeat customers. Many people are familiar with ‘business to customer’ (B2C) or retail level.

CONSUMER BEHAVIOUR

Customer is the king and it is the consumer who determines what a business is therefore a sound marketing programmer should start with a careful analysis of the habits, attitudes, motives and needs of consumers. In particular, a marketer should find answer to the following questions:

v What are the product they buy?

v Why they buy them?

v How they buy them?

v When they buy them?

v Where they buy them?

v How often they buy them

For instance, if you to manufacture a new variety of tooth paste. You should analysis the nature of individual consumption behavior as to why consumer uses tooth paste(to whiten the teeth/prevent tooth where he buys it (retail or super market): how often he buys it (frequency of buying, say every fortnight) and how much he buys it ( 100 grams / 200 grams ). It must also be noted that the behavior is show variation from individual to individual from product to product and from an individual of one region to individual of another region.
