Posted: Nov 14, 2022
When you hear the name Dubai, what comes to mind? You probably picture opulent 5-star hotels, shopping, and sports cars. But have you ever tried camping in the Dubai desert? We have put together a list of the city's most unique and remote desert camping spots for your next trip to Dubai.
The best time to travel to Dubai is from the middle of November until the beginning of December. During the first half of March, you can also visit Dubai. Anytime throughout the months of March through September is ideal for a vacation if you want to focus solely on enjoying desert camping in Dubai.
Al Dhafra Beach: One of the best desert camping locations in Dubai is Al Dhafra Beach, which is situated on the outskirts of Abu Dhabi. You can set up a camp peacefully close to the water, where you might see a few turtles and other marine life close to the shore. Aside from camping in the Dubai desert, AL Dhafra Beach is a fantastic location for indulging in water sports, including diving, snorkelling, and kayaking.
Here, the water is exquisite and perfect for getting stunning pictures of the landscapers' Al Dhafra Beach. Additionally, you may go fishing here and cook up some excellent fish or snapper on your barbecue.
Al Qudra Lake: Al Qudra is among the most popular desert camping sites in Dubai and is located mere 30 minutes away from the Mall of the Emirates. The site of Al Qudra offers two distinct environments, with one side resembling a desert and the other featuring a lovely oasis.
If you love the outdoors and wish to tent in the desert in Dubai, you can also enjoy the lovely swans and flamingos by the water. There are many things to see and indulge in if you love spending time in the great outdoors.
Acacia Forest: The acacia woodlands are the best option if you want to find a place to set up camp in Dubai among the mountain ranges. It is especially advised to travel here with a group of fellow campers. The most effective approach to stay on the path and avoid getting lost is to convey to the destination. The location would provide a lovely view of Jabal al Harim. Especially at night, this beautiful forest typically maintains a serene atmosphere. It is important to keep an eye out for the restriction signboards because there may be a risk to tourists from a nearby military firing range.
Liwa: If you enjoy solitude and seclusion, Liwa is your ideal location. Due to its remote location in Abu Dhabi's deserts, Liwa is also known as the "Empty Quarter." Only an off-road vehicle, such as an SUV, a compass, a shovel, plenty of water in reserve, and full petrol tanks, can get one there. Once there, you'd quickly realise that Liwa is one of the world's most stunning deserts, flooded with wildlife.
Arabian Dreams Desert Camp: This location is inside the Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve and has eight tent homes with all the necessary beds and restrooms. The most well-known camp in Dubai, it can house up to sixteen visitors at once and offers camel rides and dune drives as part of its package. Oryx and falcons are also seen!
Fujairah Beach: Fujairah Beach is best suited for novice campers, making it an excellent choice for weekday camping (as it gets really busy on weekends). Camping doesn't require very difficult or demanding conditions. Due to the Sandy Beach Hotel & Resort's close proximity, camping difficulties are reduced. If one is hesitant to prepare food on their own, they can get a gourmet breakfast from the hotel. Additionally, one can purchase a day pass and use the hotel's amenities.
Spend no more time deciding what to do on your trip to the UAE. On your trip to Dubai, try camping at these beautiful locations where you may sleep under a sky full of stars.
