Information of CTFA, Certified Trust and Financial Advisor Exam:

This exam consists of 200 questions, and all the exam questions are multiple choice questions. To attempt the exam, candidates have a maximum of 240 minutes (4 hours), and they need to complete the exam within this timeframe. Calculators or other devices are not permitted during CTFA, Certified Trust and Financial Advisor exam. Scratch paper is made available for taking notes during the exam but will be collected at the end of the exam. Pre requisite of CTFA, Certified Trust and Financial Advisor certificate is that candidate must meet one of the following three requirements:

  • Three years of wealth management experience plus ICB-approved training program; or
  • Five years of personal trust experience and a bachelor's degree; or
  • 10 years of personal trust experience.

There is no education requirement for CTFA, Certified Trust and Financial Advisor exam apart from the bachelor’s degree requirement. Score based on your personal performance measured against their standards, not based on a composite "grade curve" for a group or date. Candidate should prepare properly to pass the exam.

Retake policy for Certified Trust and Financial Advisor Exam:

Candidate must wait for 60 days before appearing for retake of CTFA, Certified Trust and Financial Advisor exam. There is no limit to the number of times one candidate can retake this exam. Candidate must pass the exam within a 3 year period from the date of your first exam attempt.
