There is a direct correlation between the amount of sleep that we get at night and our overall productivity. Sleep is an important ingredient that contributes to our ability to function effectively. Health professionals and doctors all over the world agree that human being require roughly eight hours of sleep each and every day. Doctors and health professionals all over the planet also agree that a person who has gone for twenty four hours without sleep is comparable to a person who consumed a large amount of alcohol. They are bound to be clumsy and forgetful. This article shall briefly describe the sleep habits of three particularly successful business people on the planet.

  • Jack Ma - Co-Founder and former Executive Chair of ecommerce website Alibaba.

Jack Ma doesn't allow daily stress and worries to stop him from having a restful sleep, stating that nothing keeps him awake at night. He says, "I know if I cannot sleep well the problems will still be there. If I sleep well, I have a chance tomorrow to fight against them." This great business man knows that there will always be challenges in business that need to be overcome, but he doesn't allow these obstacles to impact his sleep. His advice, speaking at the World Economic Forum in 2019, is to "sleep well no matter what".

  • Warrant Buffet - Currently the chairman and CEO of Berkshire Hathaway

Warren Buffet values his sleep and is in bed by 10.45pm to enjoy a full eight hours of sleep. This is critical, as 80 per cent of his days are spent reading, which requires a lot of mental energy. He famously said, "If you don't find a way to make money while you sleep, you will work until you die." On another occasion he mentioned to PBS, "I get quite a bit of sleep. I like to sleep so I will usually sleep eight hours a night.

  • Oprah Winfrey - is an American talk show host, television producer, actress, author, and philanthropist.

When asked about her sleep routine she says, "I function very well on seven hours of sleep," she added "Anything less than that, I notice a lack of focus, a listlessness, a waning energy, and not-as-sharp thinking." Oprah starts her day between 7.16am and 7.23am. Rather than checking her phone in the morning, Winfrey brushes her teeth and cares for her dogs before heading to her home gym. My first thought in the morning is, 'Oh, I'm alive. Thank you!'" she told the Hollywood Reporter.

In conclusion, these three extremely successful business people all agree that sleep is important to our success. Sleeping well contributes to our mental, emotional and physical health. We are better able to function effectively when we balance our busy lives with restful sleep. Gone are the days of long ago when it was thought that the most successful individuals in society are those who get to bed very late at night and wake up early in the morning. Successful planning involves managing sleep effectively. It is important to find quality couches for sale or beds for sale in your area and sleep restfully each and every night. The great and wise Benjamin Franklin once wisely remarked, "Early bed and early to rise makes the man healthy, wealthy and wise."
