Diablo IV, the next entry in Activision Blizzard's classic role-playing franchise, is set to arrive on June 6, 2023. Blizzard confirmed the game's release date with an announcement at The Game Awards 2022, along with a new trailer.

If you're a newcomer to the Diablo franchise, Diablo 4 is a dungeon-crawling action RPG. What this means, is that you (or you and your friends) will be hunting Demons, Undead, and various beasts across the world of Sanctuary. The fundamental gameplay objective of the player is to make his or her character as powerful as possible. Which happens via Diablo 4 items upgrades and character ability customization.

I am excited about Diablo 4 and always have been. Been playing since D1 came out. I played a ton of D2 back in the day and D3. My only issue with their selection, which is totally fine, is I feel they are missing a large group. Yes, it’s good to focus on people who are currently playing the "End Game" stuff in D2R and D3. I did it in D2, but not so much in D2R this time, played for nostalgia reasons and to introduce my wife and nephew to a classic masterpiece, and D3 doesn’t have much other than seasons and rifts, which were tacked on at the end to give people a way to continue playing. I did a few of them and had my fill. I also get that it tightens the selection pool as well, still fairly large, however.

I think they need to broaden it, for those who have played the end game but not as much, because those people, like myself, might have wanted more, but got bored with the repetition and had other games to play. But D4’s sounds very interesting and has more variety, they are actually making End game content and I’d love a shot to see if it’s for me and be able to give valuable feedback as a lifelong Diablo fan. But again, I understand where they are coming from, and Open Beta is around the corner.

If you have not received an email invite to the Diablo IV Closed Beta by November 18, then you have not been selected to participate. But don’t fret, public testing phases will begin early next year. Either way, see you all in Diablo 4 someday.
