Rheumatoid Arthritis is a chronic autoimmune disorder that causes inflammation and pain in joints throughout the body. It is a progressive disease that can cause long-term disability and joint deformity if left untreated. The exact cause of rheumatoid arthritis is unknown, but it is believed to be triggered by a combination of genetic and environmental factors.

Causes

The exact cause of rheumatoid arthritis is unknown, but it is believed to be triggered by a combination of genetic and environmental factors. For example, people with a family history of rheumatoid arthritis or other autoimmune diseases are at a higher risk. Infections, such as those caused by certain bacteria and viruses, are also thought to contribute. Additionally, smoking, obesity, and stress may increase the risk of developing rheumatoid arthritis.

Symptoms

The most common symptom of rheumatoid arthritis is joint pain and swelling, usually in the hands, wrists, elbows, and feet. Other symptoms may include fatigue, fever, weight loss, and muscle aches. The joints may be warm to the touch, and the skin around them may be red and tender. Over time, rheumatoid arthritis can cause joint deformity and disability.

Treatments

Treatment for rheumatoid arthritis usually involves a combination of medications, lifestyle changes, and physical therapy. Medications, such as nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) and disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs (DMARDs), can help reduce inflammation and pain. Additionally, lifestyle changes, such as losing weight, quitting smoking, and exercising regularly, can help improve symptoms. Physical therapy can also help to strengthen the muscles around the joints and improve range of motion. In some cases, surgery may be recommended to correct joint deformity or to replace damaged joints.

Medication for Treatment

Intacept 50mg Injection contains the active constituent etanercept. It is used to treat rheumatoid arthritis and polyarticular juvenile idiopathic arthritis (inflammatory diseases of the joints). It is used to treat psoriatic arthritis (inflammatory disease of the joints usually associated with psoriasis), plaque psoriasis (a skin condition that causes flaky, red, crusty patches of skin covered with silvery scales), and ankylosing spondylitis (inflammatory disease of the spine). It is not recommended to take this medicine during the active infection.

Rheumatoid arthritis is a chronic condition that can cause long-term disability and joint deformity if left untreated. While there is no cure, treatments are available that can help reduce inflammation and pain. It is important to work with your doctor to determine the best treatment plan for your individual needs.
