Let’s take a look at iPads and how they can be of value to a business owner.  First, iPads are capable of holding all of your books and magazines that you are interested in, which eliminates you from having to carry them from place to place.  With popular newspapers and magazines right at your fingertips on a daily basis- this certainly is a plus.

Second, the iPad has a tremendously large app and media store for business owners to download every sort of application possible.  For business, you can use Microsoft Office and iWork files, use PowerPoint presentations, and utilize PDF capability anywhere at any time.  One useful application is Ideate, which allows one to use a virtual whiteboard to put ideas on and then use images to store them.  You can then email them to anyone you wish.

If you need to manage inventory, track shipments, or create invoices, the iPad is capable comes ready to assist. You can use FileMaker Go to update inventory or check on specific products no matter where you are.  Another great app is Bento; a database that will help you track sales, keep customers organized, maintain a schedule, and manage “to do” lists. There are dozens of other apps that can make your business life much easier.

Another great quality of an iPad is the battery life, as it is quite amazing.  We all know that a laptop’s battery life is limited from 2 to 4 hours, but an iPad’s battery can last between 8 and 10 hours.  This is a definite advantage for those who travel on airplanes or those who like to sit at coffee shops or a favorite outdoor spot to work.  It is a great advantage to be able to carry a simple, small iPad throughout your day than a big laptop with its power cord.  Apple boasts that even when an iPad is in heavy use playing games, listening to music, or watching videos, the battery life will still last up to 10 hours.

The iPad is still a young device and the potential technology for the future is huge.  Tech experts believe that the iPad will become an even greater revolutionary business device within the next few years and nothing else will be able to touch it.  If you are a business owner, it is to your advantage to invest in an iPad.   Professionally it has advantages and chances are that you will enjoy the iPad personally as well with its games, camera, video camera, and a host of other recreational characteristics.
