The technology has revolutionized the way we conduct our day to day business. Every aspect of the human life and communication has been affected by it in some way or the other. All working sectors have benefitted from integrating and using technology for their work processes. It has made possible many things that were not thought to be possible in earlier times. From going to the moon to the microscopic analysis of bacteria and more, all this has been rendered possible only by the effective use of technology.

But there is one sector that has remained secluded and lacks in the use of modern technology. It is the education sector. While many schools are waking up to the need of implementing a smart technology network in the premises, others are still confused and defiant from refraining from promoting and using technology. Their fears that by this, we would make the children completely dependent on technology don’t hold true.

Another counter point that the technologically advanced gadgets can replace the teachers in the classrooms can be dismissed off as completely absurd. Everyone- the teachers, students, concerned parents, administrators and the educationalists- should remember that the high tech gadgets and gizmos are only integrated in the teaching methods as an aid to the instructors. These, in no way, can replace or diminish the importance of the personal care, attention and individual guidance that can be provided only by an individual teaching professional.

Apart from these, there is one important factor that holds back the schools from adopting to the newer ways of teaching. The financial aspect of implementing the new technology is also a strong consideration. It entails high costs and investments and is one of the major hindrances to the process. The initial costs for procurement, installation, maintenance and running costs of the computer and internet systems and other hardware & software peripherals is steep; but once it is in place, the costs come down and the benefits can be reaped for a long time.

But as a solution to this issue, there are certain government and non government organizations that offer aids for the betterment of the school education systems. The government grants and assistance to the schools that want to adopt the technology to improve the standard of education and increase students’ engagement in the learning process is also a boon to the willing institutions.

Although of great help, this financial funding can sometimes prove to be insufficient to provide the solution to some schools. They can look for other alternatives to fasten up the process than to put it on the back burner. One way is to contract out the work to an established computer and networks service providing company; like in the case of the Arizona smart schools. There are many vendors who offer such services at affordable or discounted prices. They take care of the entire procedure of sourcing, installing and upkeep of the network structures. They work in partnership with the tech companies that offer the technology and gadgets and the schools that implement these solutions.

So, more and more schools should open themselves to the idea of incorporating the technology in their traditional ways of teaching to increase and improve the students’ learning experience.
