However, the current bridge was constructed in 1989 after the earlier one, built in the year 1929, collapsed during floods.
Neelkanth Temple
Situated 31 km from the main town, this temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is located at a height of 1325m. This is where the Lord is believed to have come for meditation when he famously consumed the poison that came up during samudra manthan. As a result he got the name the blue-throated one or neelkanth. Devotees flock here during Kanwar Mela and Shivaratri festivities.
Bharat Mandir
