FULL BUST: If you're top heavy, opt for V-neck, scoop neck and sweetheart-shaped necklines that flatter the chest area. Draw atten tion to the positive with a good bra or corset. Make your face the focus, and so, avoid a revealing dress. And don't forget to move around in your gown during fittings to make sure you are comfortable. Opt for semi-fitted shapes that have open necklines and nipped-in waists.

FULL-FIGURED: Plus-size women who are well endowed, with curvy hips, look great in em pire-line silhouettes, which are flattering as they have a fitted bodice and give a high-waisted look. Try a mermaid or trumpet style gown which has a slimming effect. A high-waisted A-line dress with a low neckline also comple ments curves. Avoid a slim sheath cut that clings to your body and make sure to avoid spaghetti straps because they won't provide the support. Opt for gowns with corsets as define your shape.

STANDING TALL: Those blessed with a tall torso look great in everything--from sheaths to A-line styles and even big ball gowns.You can opt for a long veil as you can carry it off well with your height.

Avoid gowns with high necklines because they draw the eye upward and create more length. A plain silhouette instead of an embellished one helps accentuate your natural curves.

PEAR-SHAPED: A dropped-waist style or a strapless ball gown covers your bottom half and puts more emphasis on the top. An off-shoulder neckline keeps the attention on your upper body, while an A-line gown makes for a great choice.

Avoid a sheath as it can be unflattering and a V-neck that draws the eyes downward. Opt for a fit ted and shaped, mermaid style dress that accentuates the natural curves of your body.

PETITE: The key word here is `length'. It's best to keep it simple. A column-like sheath or an A-line dress works best here. These create the illusion of height. Al most every sil houette flatters this type of fig ure, however, a vo luminous ball gown may look over whelming on a small frame. Avoid dramat ic silhouettes that will overpower your frame. Trumpet, N sheath, princess style gowns also look great.

Dresses with waist lines above your natural waist lends a longer effect. Though certain styles work best on certain body types, don't let the `rule book' narrow your search too much. It helps to try on different kinds of dresses and then decide what shape and style you look and feel best in.

GOWN STYLES: A-LINE: Fitted bodice through the waist and flows out to the ground, resembling the outline of an uppercase `A'. Ideal for all body types.

MODIFIED A-LINE: Fitted on the bodice and hips and gradually flares to the hem forming an `A' shape. The skirt of a modified A-line dress fits closer to the body than a traditional A-line. Ideal for all body types.

TRUMPET: Fitted through the body and flairs mid-thigh. The cut is between a modified A-line and a mermaid cut. Ideal for body frames with small waists, such as hourglass, banana, and petites.

MERMAID: Fitted on the body from the chest to the knee, then flares out close to the knee. Ideal for slender frames and hourglass body types.Avoid this style if you're an apple-shaped or plus size.

SHEATH: Narrow shape that flows straight down from the neckline to the hem. Ideal for lean frames. Also good on hourglass body types. BALL GOWN: The `fairy tale' dress with a fitted bodice flairs at the waist with a full skirt. Ideal for most body types, but looks great on pearshaped, since it hides the lower body. Not good for petite frames as the skirt can be overwhelming on a small frame.

ALWAYS REMEMBER: Do not focus on finding the ultimate wedding gown. Pay attention to the finer details like intricate embroidery or fabric that can change the whole look of a wedding dress Figure out what works best for your body type.
