The shortest pilgrimage tour of Mt Kailah is about 11 days from Kathmandu to Mt Kailash and back. The route crosses the Himalayas north of Kathmandu and then arrives at Saga on the bank of Brahmaputra River. Mt Kailash is only about 535 km from Kathmandu. However it takes about 4 days to reach Mt Kailash from Kathmandu because of the difficult Himalayan landscape and time required for acclimatization.
