Koyikkal Palace
Situated in the district of Thiruvananthapuram at Nedumangad, this Palace is away from the city and built in 1600s during the reign of Umayamma Rani belonging to the royal family of Venad. Built in the traditional double storey nalukettu, having a gabled slanting roof and inner courtyard, this place today is run by the Archaeological Department and has a Numismatic and Folklore Museum inside the edifice.
Neyyar Sanctuary
This sanctuary along with the dam by the same name is another must visit point during your sojourn at honeymoon resorts in Kerala. Located 32 km from the main city, the sanctuary is known for its rare medicinal herbs. The dam is popular with picnickers for its picturesque backdrop and boating opportunities.
