The planet Earth is our home and it is our responsibility to take care of its climate and environment. The importance of this fact is evident as the whole world is observing special days dedicated to the environment. Most recently, America watched the America recycles day on November 15th which symbolizes the importance of the environment and need to think carefully about the importance of electronic recycling. This is not only suitable for the safe environment, but is also helpful for the economy and employment. Recycling has become one of the rapidly growing industries in the world today. Only in America this industry contributes over $100 billion to the country’s economy. This industry offers jobs to more than 140,000 people, which is quite encouraging because the overall economy of the US recently saw its horrible days and is still trying to recover.

Electronic recycling involves a number of integrated processes and recycling operations. Steel, gold, aluminum, silver, lead, glass, nickel, copper, titanium, mercury, and plastic are the main components of the electronic devices. These materials have a high demand in different industries. Recyclers extract these elements are recycled them instead of throwing into the trash.

According to the statics, if a company recovers one million laptops it saves as much energy as is used by 4000 homes in America during one year. According to the statistics from the miners, one metric ton of ore contains 40 times less gold as compared to the amount of gold extracted from one metric ton of processing chips and circuits. It not only saves a lot of money, but also saves a lot of time and effort. On the other hand, electronic recycling allows the manufacturers to produce new products within a less period of time.

The cost of recycled products is less as compared to the products that require the processing from the scratch. This fact allows the companies to set low prices and more and more people afford to buy the new products. In this way, it serves the persons with little purchasing power. This fact is more evident in the mobile phone industry. On the other hand, if we see the impact on the larger scale, the developing countries gain more advantage from the recycling of electronic products. People in the developing world generally have little purchasing power, but due to the availability of the new products at reasonable prices the whole nation gets the chance to adopt the modern trends. So it enables the developing countries to pace up with the ever changing and progressing world.

In the United States only, half of the raw material comes from the electronic recycling. The recycling industry is not only helping the economy of the respective countries but is also helping the people to enjoy the facilities of the latest products. Recycling is the best method to save the environment and keep it from the hazards of pollution. People are becoming more and more aware and everyone has started to realize the importance of the green environment.
