Ford Ranger and Ford Bronco are both pick-up trucks manufactured by Ford. Both are well-suited to meet different needs based on their structure and internal fittings. This article provides an overview of both the models for those considering either a Ford Ranger for sale or a Ford Bronco for saleincluding advice on their replacements.

Ford Ranger

Ford first used the name Ranger for a pick-up truck that was being sold in the early 1980s in North America and parts of South America. Later in 1998, Ford assigned the name Ranger for a distinct model of a pick-up truck. The Ranger truck has seen a number of small changes to its body structure over the years, the latest one being an exterior metal sheet on the existing body structure.

However, the Ford Ranger had a lot of problems. There were a number of complaints that the ride in a Ford Ranger was very uncomfortable, and it bounced its passengers about a lot. Also, the mileage was very bad and so it didn’t prove to be cost-effective in the long run owing to increasing gas prices. As not a lot of huge and apparent changes were being made to the Ranger every year, similar models manufactured by other companies took over the market. In spite of this, as it had a small body and a tough build, it was ideal for truck-savvy people and small business owners who wanted a tough vehicle for work. As the Ford Ranger is now no longer being manufactured, anyone considering a Ford Ranger for sale can think about Ford F150 or Ford Escape.

Ford Bronco

Ford Bronco is an SUV (Sport Utility Vehicle) that started its journey in 1966 and has seen five generations of its models. It was originally introduced to provide competition to other SUVs such as Jeep CJ-5 and International Harvester Scout. In 1978, the entire body structure of the Bronco was altered to make it bigger in size to compete with the Chevy K5 Blazer and the Dodge Ramcharger.

The Ford Bronco was Ford’s first SUV which was quite small and compact. The design was not borrowed from any of the previous models of Ford, and its frame, suspension, and body were completely original. Although the basic design of the axles and brakes were borrowed from the F100 pick-up truck, a number of innovative changes made it much better and suitable as an SUV. The style of the vehicle was very simple and cost-effective. Although handling this vehicle was much easier due to its size, its towing capacity was very low.

After the Ford Bronco’s initial success, it did not fare well and a major change was necessary to boost up sales. This was when it was redesigned based on the Ford F100 from which it borrowed its chassis, drivetrain, and body components. However, due to lack of its ability to compete with better models manufactured by other companies, the Ford Bronco and all its derivatives were discontinued in 1996. Anybody considering a Ford Bronco for sale can go for Ford Expedition.
