Celebrities and floral names:
Many celebrities changed their original names to that of a flower while others had floral names given by their parents and they later grew to become celebrities. The all-time favorite Bollywood actress Nargis was born Fatima Rashid but later changed her name after the Nargis flower when she took to acting. Rose Byrne, Rose McGowa, Lily Allen and Lili Taylor got their names after flowers before they became celebrities.
Flowers and baby names:
Naming their children after a flower is in vogue among celebrities. From poppy to lily, rose, Ivy and tulip celebrities have named their children after various flowers. Actor Ben Affleck has named his daughters Violet and Seraphina Rose. Singer Beyonce’s daughter’s middle name is Ivy. Two of the biggest Hollywood stars Johnny Depp and Tom Cruise have chosen the flower rose to name their daughters. Lily Rose is Johnny Depp’s daughter and Suri, which means “red rose” in Persian, is Tom Cruise’s daughter’s name. Geri Halliwell, the singer of the Spice Girls group has also picked a flower name for her daughter Bluebell Madonna. Daisy True is the name of the versatile actress Meg Ryan’s daughter.
Flowers named after celebrities:
Apart from celebrities naming a closed one of theirs after a flower, there are flowers named after celebrities. The sensuous singer Lady Gaga has a newly found genus of ferns - Gaga Germanotta and Gaga Monstraparva, named after her. Singers Freddie Mercury and Cher also have flowers – Rose Freddie Mercury and Iris Cher, named after them. This is not all. There are other connections between flowers and celebrities which make news instantly - the floral designer clothes they wear, the flower that they use as a hair accessory, the flowers used for their wedding celebrations etc. In short, celebrities and flowers are inseparable and incomplete without each other.
