Behavior Analysts are people who study the science of behavior and learning. The realm of behavior, be it anyone’s, is big and just as mysterious. However, to practice as an analyst, all the interested candidates must be certified by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board. The Board offers different certifications, based on the level of education attained by the candidates. For people who have their Masters Degrees can appear for the BCABA Exam Practice and become Board Certified Behavioral Analysts. Or, if the interested candidates just have a bachelor’s degree, they can appear for the BCABA Exam Training Material, earning the Board Certified Assistant Behavioral Analyst certification.

The BCABA Test Prepares Questions the candidates for descriptive behavioral assessment, interpret the results, and then design ethical and effective behavioral analytical interventions for clients. The BCaBA Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst exam also teaches the candidates to supervise behavioral technicians. All the interested candidates must follow the terms and conditions given by the BACB, which includes not disclosing the content of the exam to anyone. The BCaBA Exam Test Practice is administered using a Computer Based Testing (CBT) format, and can be taken through the Pearson VUE testing centers. General information about the test, as per the 4th edition content outline, is as follows:

  • Number of questions: 130
  • Pilot questions, in addition to graded 130: 10
  • Time allowed in hours: 4 (including time to read terms and conditions and instructions)

BCaBA Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst target audience

The test is only targeted at candidates who have the following required pre-requisites:

  • Possession of a minimum of a bachelor’s degree from any of the following:

a. A US institute of higher education listed in the CHEA Database of Institutions and Programs accredited by recognized US accrediting Organizations

b. Canadian institute of higher education that is a member of Association of Universities and Colleges of Canada, or Association of Canadian Community Colleges

c. An institute of higher education located outside US or Canada which maintained the standard as demonstrated by World Education Services or national Association of Credential Evaluation Services

  • 135 classroom hours of instructions in the following content area and for the number of hours specified

a. Ethical considerations: 10 hours

b. Definition and characteristics and principles, processes and concepts: 40 hours

c. Behavioral assessment and selecting intervention outcomes and strategies: 25 hours

d. Experimental evaluation of interventions and measurement of behavior and displaying and interrupting behavioral data: 20 hours

e. Behavioral change procedures and systems support: 40 hours

  • Experience as per the BACB requirement, accessible through their website
