Montada Star Evolution Analysis: Solid Potential, But Not a Must-Have

The recent release of the Montada Star Evolution in the FC series has drawn plenty of attention from the community. Priced at 35,000 FC coins, the cost isn’t much of a barrier at this stage—what really matters is how much of an upgrade it offers. Overall, this Evolution doesn’t feel game-breaking, but it does bring some interesting options for certain players, especially those who could grow further with future stat boosts.

One of the most debated aspects of this Evolution is the 89 Pace cap, which limits the upside of already fast players like Doku. On top of that, the Evolution only offers three positions and is locked to the left side, leaving out versatile players who could shine with more positional flexibility. PlayStyle-wise, the Evolution provides strong options like Finesse Shot (Gold), Trivela (Silver), Incisive Pass, and Tiki Taka (Silver). However, since most left-sided players are right-footed, having a Gold Finesse Shot isn’t as effective as a Gold Trivela would be—swapping those two would have made this Evolution far more appealing.

When it comes to player picks, Rashford remains a popular choice, but his in-game improvements are somewhat limited. His Pace doesn’t increase, his Shooting gets better but isn’t elite, and his Passing and Dribbling feel average. To truly maximize him, you’ll want to add PlayStyles like Trivela (Gold) and Technical, otherwise he won’t stand out. A smoother alternative is Neres—a left-footed left winger who makes great use of Finesse Shot (Gold) and Trivela (Silver). His dribbling feels fantastic in-game, making him a stronger on-pitch option despite some wasted PlayStyles.

Another standout is Luna, who offers excellent all-around stats and near-perfect PlayStyle coverage—he can even pick up Technical as an extra. The only thing to test is his Stocky body type; if you’re comfortable with how he moves, he’s easily a top-tier pick from this group. Other names like Fati and Marmoush bring their own strengths: Fati’s dribbling is silky but his Passing lets him down, and his 4★/4★ can’t be upgraded. Marmoush brings high Pace and solid Shooting, but his limited positions and stiff dribbling make it hard to justify choosing him over meta staples like Pina. As for Sancho, he’s more of a niche option—his 5★ Skills and smooth dribbling are nice, but his popularity has faded. Still, if you’re a fan, he can be a fun build.

In summary, the Montada Star Evolution isn’t essential right now. It might be smarter to save your resources for upcoming Evolutions that offer smaller, stackable stat boosts. We’ve already seen new defensive Evolutions that link well with fullbacks and center-backs—proof that waiting can often lead to better long-term value. Choose wisely, and focus on players who fit both your squad and your playstyle.
