What are the best-selling VIDA models: Features, Prices & Perks Compared

When my colleague asked me which VIDA model I'd recommend for his daily 20-km Mumbai commute, I realised I'd been having this conversation a lot lately. With VIDA's expanded lineup now including the new VX2 variants alongside the V2 series, there's a decent range to choose from, and each is finding its own audience.

The Budget Champion: VX2 GO

The VX2 GO, priced around ₹70,000-75,000 in Delhi (with subsidies), has become the entry point that many first-time EV buyers are gravitating toward. What strikes me about this model is how VIDA has kept it practical without making it feel stripped down. You get the same 6 kW motor across all variants, so the acceleration feels peppy enough for city traffic.

The 94 km IDC range translates to about 64 km in real-world conditions, which honestly covers most people's daily needs. I've noticed friends with this model aren't constantly worried about charging, especially with that removable 2.2 kWh battery. The 4.3" LCD display does the job without unnecessary bells and whistles, and drum brakes with CBS feel adequate for city speeds.

What's interesting is that this seems to be the model parents are buying for their college-going kids. The pricing makes sense for families testing the EV waters, and the 70 km/h top speed keeps things sensible.

The Sweet Spot: VX2 Plus

If I had to guess, the VX2 Plus is actually selling the most at around ₹95,000. This feels like the Goldilocks option: not too basic, not over the top. The dual-battery setup (3.4 kWh total) bumps the real-world range to about 100 km, which is the magic number where most people stop worrying about daily charging.

The 80 km/h top speed and front disc brakes make it feel more confident on ring roads and during overtakes. I've seen this model parked at IT offices across Bangalore, which tells me it's hitting the right note for young professionals who want something reliable but not flashy.

The 4.3" TFT display is a nice upgrade over the LCD, and the connected features actually come in handy when you're sharing the scooter with family members who want to check battery levels through the app.

The Premium Choice: V2 Pro

The V2 Pro, sitting between ₹1.15-1.35 lakh, represents VIDA's attempt at a premium offering. With disc brakes front and rear, a larger TFT display, and keyless entry, it's clearly targeting users who want the full package. The enhanced battery capacity gives you that extra buffer for longer rides or those days when you forget to charge overnight.

But here's the thing: I see fewer of these on the road than I do VX2 models. The price jump is significant, and for many Indian buyers, the VX2 Plus already ticks most boxes. The Pro seems to appeal to enthusiasts or those who want the peace of mind that comes with the top-spec model.

What's Really Driving Sales

From what I've observed, the removable battery feature is the real game-changer across all variants. Living in apartments without dedicated parking, most of us can't run extension cords to the street. Being able to pop out the battery and charge it upstairs has solved that fundamental problem.

The Hero brand trust factor can't be ignored either. While newer EV companies are flashier, something is reassuring about buying from a company that's been fixing scooters in every Indian town for decades.

The Reality Check

If I'm being honest, most people I know are choosing between the VX2 GO and VX2 Plus based purely on budget and daily distance. The feature differences between variants matter less than having a reliable EV that charges at home and doesn't leave you stranded.

The V2 series, including the Pro variant, offers another middle ground, but the VX2 range seems to have captured more attention with its clear positioning and pricing.

For first-time EV buyers, the VX2 GO makes perfect sense. For everyone else who can stretch the budget, the VX2 Plus feels like the model that'll age well with your needs.
