College life is one such period where we learn, grow, apply as well as experience many different things. It is an ideal time to flip new pages in life. When we plan to study abroad in college or school or opt for higher studies, the first thing we come across is the right age for being completely independent. The golden age of 19-20 is that one at which adolescence comes to an end and maturity begins.

When one plans to leave our home and homeland behind, a ton of responsibilities burden ones shoulder. And the feeling of fear and unfamiliarity makes it more difficult. So before choosing the locations for your studies do a detailed research. Never make your decisions on your friend’s experiences. Search about the country, see to it if you can adjust with its atmosphere or not and visit the country once. One may hear good stuff about the place but reality can only be encountered when you discover your own likes and dislikes.

An advantage of studying abroad in college is that one experiences new culture. While studying one gets least number of holidays so without returning to own country one can immerse in the particular culture of the host country. They can explore and develop new skills in themselves. Again it has its own disadvantage, studies in abroad do not end in weeks but is a period of either few months or a year. If one is homesick, that may ruin every expectation. Their culture may not suit the one and can turn down every expectation.

When someone meets new people they make friends with them. They indulge in their culture and try learning their language. Their style of living may enthusiast them. Initially when one moves in to study in abroad colleges, language becomes the prior problem. It is difficult to communicate with the local people. One can get upset if their language is not understood. It’s difficult to understand what teachers in colleges might be teaching, during adjustment one may miss out many of the syllabus.

When we step into something new there are a lot many hurdles but still people tend to adjust and reach their goal. Studying abroad may sound fun at first but with a lot of excitement it is sometimes depressing, annoying and uncomfortable at times. Each year few foreign students commit suicide due to frustration. In addition to all the miseries, studies in home country are easier than studies abroad.

If these negative aspects are ignored there are many points that make studies in abroad an amazing experience. Living in a different place enlarges our way of thinking. It teaches us to adjust and accept other culture. It enhances our language skills as well as communication skills. They open our minds toward new knowledge and more adaptable toward any situation.

When finances become a hurdle scholarships are open. It’s just a visa to a correct destination which can shape futures into massive artworks. Exposure to a global network and large contacts. Moreover a bright future waits in abroad.
