Sending large files without hassle, what works best?

I’ve been dealing with the need to send large files more and more often lately, and it’s starting to become a bit of a problem. Whether it’s videos, high-resolution images, project folders, or compressed archives, the usual methods just don’t seem to handle it well. Email is basically out of the question because of strict size limits, and a lot of messaging apps either compress files too much or don’t allow large uploads at all. That makes them unreliable, especially when file quality actually matters.

What I’m trying to find is a solution that’s both simple and dependable. Ideally, it shouldn’t require too much setup, and definitely not something where both people need to create accounts or install extra software just to send or receive a file once. In many cases, I just need a quick way to upload something, send a link, and be done with it. The simpler the process, the better.

Recently, I tried using SwiftSend, and overall it seems like a pretty convenient option for this kind of situation. The workflow is straightforward — upload the file, generate a link, and share it. It’s fast, and there’s no need to go through multiple steps or configurations. For quick, one-time transfers, it feels like a practical solution. That said, I’m still not completely sure how well it performs in more demanding cases. For example, I haven’t tested it with extremely large files or in situations where the internet connection isn’t very stable. On the other hand, I’ve also considered sticking with cloud storage platforms. They seem more stable overall and are useful when files need to stay available for a longer period of time. You can organize things, keep backups, and share access more flexibly. But at the same time, they often feel a bit too heavy for simple tasks, especially when I just want to send one file quickly without dealing with folders, permissions, or syncing.

So right now I’m kind of in between these two approaches — quick transfer tools like SwiftSend for speed and simplicity, and cloud services for stability and longer-term access. I’m really interested in hearing what others here are using in practice.
