There are many ways in which an iPad can get damaged by water. Rain, sweat from an iPad exercise arm band are some examples of water damage which can catch the iPad user off guard. Not to worry iPad users, there is still hope for saving your iPad at a low cost. Here is how you can do a Toronto iPad repair:

  1. Firstly, do not try to switch on an iPad after it was damaged by water. As water is a best conductor of electricity, it will immediately short out from the water inside once you switch on the power to any electronic device. However, this were taught in kindergarten, it can be easy to forget this issue after an accident happens to your beloved phone!
  2. Secondly, do not use a hair dryer, microwave, or stove to dry the water from your device. If you use a hair dryer, the water will spread around inside, thus leading to more corrosion along its path. The logic board can also be damaged from excessive heat caused by any of these methods.
  3. Next step is to remove your SIM card and carefully empty any extra water inside your iPad. This means you only need to gently wiggle. This should only be "gently wiggled" if it has been fully submerged underwater and you can hear the sound of water splashing inside.

4. Toronto iPad repair needs you to put the iPad in a bag of dry rice (silica gel packets also work) for a few days. The rice will soak up water left inside your iPhone without further damaging the electronics. A bowl will also work sometimes.

5. Finally, plug your phone into a charger after waiting for 5 days. If the charging symbol powers on the screen, then there's a probability the phone will likely boot itself back on when a full charge has been reached. Congratulations, it's done!

Do not try to turn it on while unplugging it from the wall if you don't see anything on the screen within 5 minutes from when you first plugged it in. Take it to the bag of rice for another 48 hours or more and repeat this process again. If you're not able to see anything on the screen to indicate the battery charge process, then you may caused permanent damage.

Unfortunately, as water damage isn't covered under manufacturer's warranty, then the only way of saving your phone from this point is by choosing a third party repair company. Some things to be aware of while looking: make sure they are certified, their repairs include a warranty, and they only use OEM parts.
