Mercedes-Benz Wins Three Categories in 'World Car Awards 2015'

Mercedes-Benz received awards in three out of five categories in the prestigious World Car Awards 2015, held at the New York International Auto Show. This amazing performance is unprecedented in the 11-year history of the World Car of the Year awards, and it reflects Mercedes-Benz's tremendous popularity. A panel of 75 auto journalists from around the world voted to choose the winners. The Mercedes-Benz C-Class won the top honor, World Car of the Year 2015. The S-Class Coupe was voted World Luxury Car 2015, and the Mercedes-AMG GT sports car got the award for World Performance Car 2015.

The 2015 C-Class sedan has been redesigned to be longer and lighter. It has a roomy interior, top-quality materials, and new engines. The base C300 model uses a turbocharged 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engine with 241 horsepower, while the C400 gets a turbocharged 3.0-liter V-6 with 329 horsepower. They both have a seven-speed automatic transmission, all-wheel drive and a fuel-saving ECO engine stop-start system. The S65 gets a turbocharged 6.0-liter V-12 for an impressive 621 horsepower. Its fuel economy is 13 mpg city and 21 mpg highway. Rear-wheel drive is standard on the coupe and the sedan.
