The new revolutionary program in school education system is Smart Classes that has changed the concept of learning (classroom teaching). It's an innovative technology that has aimed to revolutionize the way teachers teach and students learn in class. Obviously, this methodology has proved beneficial for the students.

A smart classroom has an instructor equipped with a personal computer, overhead projector, wireless internet access, DVD player and a smart board. Computers in smart class room help with presenting lessons and also in management and organization. Computer will be used for preparing lesson plans, completing your grade book, checking emails, making posters, or preparing letters. Multimedia projectors are commonplace in many of today's classrooms they project images, presentations, or videos from a computer, laptop, or document camera onto a screen or wall. A wireless internet access help connect to the internet. A smart board is a tool to access and annotate a computer using the mouse. Smart board replaces traditional teaching method of using blackboards or whiteboard that teacher used to write with a chalk. In Smart classes firstly the curriculum is converted into animated visuals which not only become an enjoyable experience for students but they can relate to and remember facts easily. For them, while learning in the classroom becomes a thrilling and exciting experience. Such teaching helps to maintain the student's interest and focus by engaging them fully for the entire learning experience.Smart Schools have their website or blog using Word Press or any other content management software. Teachers can create class blogs were they post assignments so students will find all academic assignments via that blog. It is very easy to manage and post data to a blog. So that students don’t have any problems finding the one.

Teachers and students can also use smart-phones for academic purposes in the classroom. Mobile learning is becoming so popular. It is similar to e-learning or long distance education. Though it’s based on mobile phones, M-Learning is convenient because it is accessible from anywhere. Many universities now-a-days provide Smart phones, Tablets or Laptops to students on admission so that, they don’t have any problems.

Everything in the world has a Positive & negative side. Like any other technology, Smart Classes also have disadvantages. First, Smart Boards are very expensive. The cost of the actual board, the software, projector, and installation fees are very high, approximately Rs 60,000/-, but can vary depending on model and year.

Another disadvantage of Smart Boards is that they require maintenance. Proper maintenance of Smart boards is must, otherwise they can be damaged. Smart Boards also need to be kept working properly and installed with the proper updates. Most of the time teachers are the ones that need to find the time and download these updates, which may cause a problem, because some teachers don’t have much knowledge about the technology. So, this may require additional technology assistants to be hired to help with problems that arise with the Smart Board and also keep the Smart Board updated. So, it depends upon individual school choice to be named as smart schools or not.
