Why People Like Electric Snow Blowers

Electric snow blowers offer less power and throwing range when removing the snow so it is not likely that they will replace gas units in parts deep inside the continent where the snow gets just too deep in winter. Yet, they are fast becoming the top choice where snow height does not go above 10 inches. This is not surprising because they have a number advantages over gas blowers whenever the intense power of gas motor is not necessary.

A top reason people go for electric snow throwers is their significantly lighter build when compared to single stage and two stage gas snow throwers. Pushing around heavy equipment is not only hard but also dangerous. Especially if you are not very fit and doing the job without warming up, working a heavy snow blower causes many health risks including back problems and heart attack. A light snow blower will put much less pressure on your body and make the snow removal session easier and less risky.

Gas emission from old-school snow throwers is yet another motivation behind the growing interest in electric snow blowers. Few people are ready to tolerate smoke from a gas engine when a sufficiently powerful alternative is available. Others prefer electric equipment because they believe it has no carbon footprint. It should be noted at this point that electric snow blowers and other electric power tools hardly have any less carbon footprint than their gas powered counterparts. This is because electric power comes from power stations that run on fossil fuels and it is even less efficient than using the gas directly to run the power tools. It is hard to make a reliable estimation but perhaps electric snow blowers cause more greenhouse gas to enter the atmosphere than gas snow blowers. That said, users still favor electric because whatever carbon emission it causes, it happens in a far away power station rather than the driveway.

You cannot fully understand why the demand for electric snow blowers is growing so fat without considering the noise factor. Noise from outdoor tools is the number one reason for quarrels between neighbors so quiet equipment is great even if you do not mind the noise yourself. A quick glance at electric snow blower reviews reveals that they are often rather quiet and cause little disturbance to the surroundings.

In conclusion, electric power snow throwers can be a great choice if your city does not receive heavy snow fall and yet, you want lightweight tool that will let you keep the shovel in the garage in February.
