Jaipur

Jaipur is known as the Pink City. Founded by Raja Jai Singh in the 18th Century, the most notable landmarks are the Amber Fort, the City Palace and the Hawa Mahal. Jaipur is also a shopper’s paradise known for apparel, jewellery and handicrafts.

People proceed to the City Palace followed by a visit to Jantar Mantar, the observatory built by Raja Sawai Jai Singh. A late afternoon visit to Hawa Mahal is followed by a trip to Amber Fort, built by Maharaja Mansingh, famous for its Sheesh Mahal or hall of mirrors.

Jodhpur

Jodhpur is fondly called the Blue city due to the predominant use of the color blue for the buildings. It is also known as the Sun city. Rao Jodha is said to have founded the city in 1459AD and the Mehrangarh Fort is one of the most magnificent forts with palaces inside that will charm tourists.

Umaid Bhavan Palace is the modern Palace created by its later rulers, an ultra luxurious royal dwelling. Today it is a five star hotel and part of it is used as residence by the members of the ruling family.

Udaipur

Udaipur is a charming city of lakes with picturesque palaces and a lovely museum housing a collection of memorabilia of its erstwhile rulers. It is so beautiful it earned the sobriquet "Venice of the East" a name it lives up to. Founded in 1568 by Maharaja Udai Singh, Udaipur is a blend of palaces and lakes with Lake Pichola being the most picturesque. Saheliyon ki Bari is a small but lovely garden and the two must visit palaces are the City Palace and Jagniwas Palace.

A visit to the Sajjangarh Fort and Jag Mandir are truly memorable. For guests the tour includes a visit to the City Palace, the Fateh Sagar lake and the Saheliyon ki Bari followed by an afternoon boat ride on Lake Pichola and a trip to the Jag Mandir.

Chittorgarh

Chittorgarh is not only Rajasthan’s pride but the glory of India, full of tales of the valour of Maharana Pratap. The Chittorgarh fort is huge, perhaps the biggest in India, and was the seat of power of the Sisodias from 8th to 16th centuries.

The massive fort is spread over an area of 700 acres and stands atop a 180 meter hillock. The other places tourists can visit are the Rana Kumbha Palace, Padmini Palace and Fateh Prakash Palace.

Sawai Madhopur

Sawai Madhopur is another royal output in Rajasthan, founded by Madho Singh II but is famously known for the Ranthambore National Park, home to tigers. Tourists will love the jungle safari where they enjoy the sights of the local fauna and of course have a chance to come face to face with the royal tiger.

The Ranthambore Fort is located plumb in the middle of the Reserve and awes visitors with it architectural style giving a glimpse into its royal past. Guests proceed to the Ranthambore National Park in the morning and return to the train for breakfast after which the train proceeds to the next destination.
