Bangalore, or rather Bengaluru is the capital of the state of Karnataka. It is best known for being the hub of IT and is also one of the most significant cities in the country. Bangalore is a city in the state of Karnataka. In fact, it is the capital of the state and is one of the largest cities in the country. In the past, the regions of the city were ruled by various rulers, which include: Cholas, Hoysalas, Marathas, Mughals, and then the British. The city found significance in its very beginning and the fact is testified by the reality that several battles were fought to gain power of the city. Post Independence of the country the city was formerly a part of Mysore state. It was actually the capital of the state and remained so till 1956 when the state of Karnataka was created in 1956 and the city was declared the capital of this new formed state. The city is primarily housed by the Kannad people, and the Kannada name of the city is Bangaluru which is now the official name of the city; declared in 2006.
Meanwhile, the city is a growing city with increasing number of industries, businesses, and companies. It is often called the Silicon Valley of India for being the nation's leading exporter of Information Technology.
