Loneliness usually tends to bore people and bring about lot of negative thoughts. This applies not the just the idle ones. Though it may seem like it there would be less wastage of time when you work alone, the reality is quite different. As your mind wanders, you keep going farther away from where you should be and this becomes all the more worse if there is a computer connected to internet in front of you. The addictive streaming sites or your over curiosity about what others are doing will inadvertently lead you astray and decrease the overall productivity. But not just the exterior distractions, the mind may also tend to develop negative thoughts which may lead to personality disorders in the long term. Humans, being the social animals that we are, tend to feel better in the presence of other people. As necessity is the mother of invention, the necessity to be around people has led to the origin of coworking spaces.

Coworking spaces

Coworking spaces are places where people who work independently can sit around each other in a common space. They need not be working together or working for the same organization but can sit across the table as they work. This is a great alternative to all those people who are self-employed or those who work-from home. These spaces allow you to sit along with people similar to you and give you a little company. It is quite obvious that a good chat with stranger can be less time consuming than the hours that are wasted on Facebook. Most of these places provide a few basic facilities like comfortable Desk Space Rental, good air conditioning and Wi-Fi facilities. Though there is a risk of wasting a little time over random conversations, this kind of a thing will prevent you from having to run the home errands just because your family thinks you are home and free.

Few of the coworking spaces in London are as follows:

  1. The Huckletree 87 Charterhouse Street,Clerkenwell,London EC1M 6HJ
  2. Google Campus 4-5 Bonhill St,Shoreditch,London EC2A 4BX
  3. Rainmaking Loft International House,1 Saint Katharine’s way,London E1W 1UN
  4. Central Working Different locations
  5. Winkley Studios: 2 Dunston Street London E8 4EB

Hot Desking

Hot Desking is another similar kind of setup where the number of employees exceed the number of desks. This can only be possible with fixed timings or the people must shuffle the desk use at regular intervals. This kind of a setup is helpful if you are working with a small team for short periods of time or if you are on a very tight budget and cannot afford to spend on a permanent office space. The main advantages of hot desking are as follows:

  1. Saves Space: Costs you less than having to invest in a permanent space.
  2. Mobile Working: Since you are not confining your work to the single desktop that is allotted to you, you get to carry on with it on your laptop. Carrying all your files on an external hard disk can make this process more effective.
  3. Better allocation of resources: The money that you save in this can be used to improve the technological aspects and thereby make your main task simpler.
