If you're looking for the ideal place to go for a short ski break, one place that is perfect for those of any ability is the Three Valleys. Located in the south east of France, in the heart of the Alps, the Three Valleys has the distinction of being one of the biggest skiing areas in Europe. It has a large array of resorts to choose from, including Meribel, Courchevel, Val Thorens, and many more.

There are plenty of fabulous chalets to rent in the Three Valleys, and you can quite often get a great deal on last minute ski holidays. Whether you're a beginner, intermediate level, or are ready to hit the hardest slopes (or even go off piste), there is somewhere suitable for you in the Three Valleys.

Beginners

If you have always wanted to learn to ski, check out the options of last minute ski holidays to La Tania. This fantastic resort is located at 1400m and is home to the largest ski school in France. Here, you can take lessons, get specialised tutoring and get to grips with the ins and outs of skiing or snow boarding. Once you get your ski legs, you can take advantage of the entire Three Valleys on a host of green runs to boost your confidence. You'll be able to enjoy the different areas while still staying within your comfort level.

Intermediate

Last minute ski holidays to Meribel offer excellent opportunities for intermediate skiers. This is the perfect place to go to rack up the mileage on a plethora of blue and red slopes, which will challenge you at just the right level. Courchevel is also a great place for red and blue slopes, then if you want some slightly harder pistes, head over to Val Thorens and the surrounding area. If you base yourself here, you will be well served by easy greens, reds and blues to boost your confidence before you're ready to head to the harder slopes.

Expert

There are enough black slopes around the Three Valleys for experts to confidently book last minute ski holidays to the area. The array of very hard slopes amongst the resorts areas is enough you going for weeks. To start, Meribel's black slopes are excellent and the moguls are in high supply, then you can head to Courchevel, where there are no less than 30 black runs to sink your skis into. (Since the Three Valleys is entirely interconnected, it's very easy to get to the next area.) After exhausting all the black slopes, if you're up for more of a challenge, get a good guide and then head into uncharted territories off-piste! The mountains around Val Thorens are perfect for a challenging fresh powder run at altitude.

The Three Valleys is perfect for any ability.
