From global organizations to talented individuals, different people are using the internet in different ways to connect and engage with people and exhibit their work. One of the most interesting fields that has witnessed a change with the internet revolution has been the food & beverage industry. Top chefs and pâtissiers are no longer relegated to the back of the kitchen or words on a cook book and are finally able to engage with a wider audience via the internet.

Television has been the preferred medium that chefs have used to showcase their work and conduct classes with a live audience. But the abundance of free web conferencing software on the internet has made it the new favorite of chefs and cooks globally. They use these webcast services to conduct live classes and interact with audiences who are located anywhere in the world.

A webcast is commonly defined as ‘broadcasting via the internet’. It can be done either live or delayed. It is far more engaging and productive than a session conducted over the television. A class where cooks teach various recipes or cooking techniques is not restricted to a limited number of learners anymore. It is accessible to anyone and everyone due to these sessions being turned into digital webcasts.

It is not possible to organize a successful session where the participants can cook simultaneously with the chef on television. When watching a recipe on television, people usually scribble down the process. But with free web conferencing, the audience can be informed of the ingredients and the time at which the session will be aired well in advance so that they can cook along with the chef. Also, the recipe and ingredients are clearly written and saved for later references on the internet which is not possible with television.

Another advantage of free web conferencing that chefs indulge in is that of response management. Since viewers view the recipe or technique of cooking as it is being done they can get their queries addressed immediately. Also, the chef can accept and give suggestions and tips.

Chefs and cooks love appreciation and watching people enjoy and react to their dishes is a joy parallel to none. Using free web conferencing software to teach people recipes allows check to share their art and experience that joy. The only thing that is not possible now, is transporting the finished dish to the webinar audience for them to taste it, but there must be someone working on making that possible as well!
