While kids eagerly wait for their first stint at Fremont summer camp organized by Riverdales After School, it is important to ensure that their packing bag has all the essentials for the upcoming event. Prepping up a child for the camp is no different from making him/her ready for a day at preschool. Of course, the list goes much beyond the clothes they’ll need to carry for the weather as well as the activities they will indulge in at the STEM summer camp. Ideally, the packing list should include:

Clothes for day and night weather

Since it would be warm outside, it is best to make the kids dress up in comfortable clothes. In terms of footwear, it is advisable to make them wear sneakers rather than flip-flops, as it would protect their feet. Again, at night, the weather may be slightly cool, and it is advisable to pack in a pair of socks that would keep the child’s feet warm.

Hat / Baseball cap

The ideal hat is one which has a wide brim that would cover the child’s ears, back of the neck, and forehead. If nothing else, one should make sure that the kid wears a baseball cap.

Apply sunscreen

Since its summer time and the kids will mostly be playing out in the sun, it is advisable that they apply sunscreen on their bodies to safeguard themselves from the harmful UV rays.

Water shoes

Summer camps often include swimming and other water games. It will be a good idea to pack a pair of water proof & non slip sandals or shoes.

Swimming cap

The chlorine content in the water may damage the child’s hair. In such a scenario, a swimming cap is an essential item to keep in the bag.

Earplugs

Earplugs are a must-have for children aspiring to learn swimming or indulging in water activities, particularly if they are prone to developing an infection in the ear.

Goggles

The trick is to keep a couple of these in the bag, since there is always a tendency of misplacing them. Ensure to keep an extra one for the water activities.

Bath Towels

After a long day of running activities, the child may be drenched in sweat. Just a quick splash of water on the body will ensure that the child stays fresh and healthy. A regular sized bath towel is another essential to be packed.

Before packing the stuff in the bag, it is a good idea to label everything. Once that is done, the child is all set to go to have a fun-filled and memorable time at the summer camp Fremont.
