This is going to be the 5th novel of Steve's that you will read and the 7th book overall.

Benchere in Wonderland appears to basically ask what Art is and what is the role of Arts in the world? I think it goes further than that though the book drives the reader to think about what it means to be human--what it means to ponder, to do, to adore, to suffer and to appreciate. Make sure you come to attend the book launch at Powell's Books on Hawthorne at 3723 SE Hawthorne Blvd, Portland, OR 97214. Call now to book a Hawthorne taxi or a cab Hawthorne to reach the launch venue. So you can also join the Hawthorne Books along with Dzanc Books publisher & author Steven Gillis who will be reading from his novel Benchere in Wonderland for the exclusive book launch. From aptly cool beginnings in a little funky neighbourhood, Powell's on Hawthorne has developed into the biggest new & used bookstore on Portland's eastern side. Situated in a lively, assorted, and highly anticipated neighbourhood, Powell's on Hawthorne now covers more than 10,000 square feet of retail area and provides more than 200,000 used and new books. The atmosphere is calm and stress-free, but the stock is big enough to permit a map. Not as widespread as the labyrinth at the City of Books, Powell's on Hawthorne is separated into just 3 rooms, each room termed for a neighbourhood landmark: Hawthorne, Tabor & Madison. You can hire a Gardena taxi to ensure in time arrival to the book launch.

The 2nd is entitled for Mt. Tabor, the world's only vanished volcano existing within the city bounds. Powell's on Hawthorne crowds energetic and motivating author readings numerous times each week in its Tabor Room. Next to to the reading space, booklovers assemble in The Fresh Pot, an attractive corner of the store serving delightful homemade pastries and other sweet pleasures, along with the best coffee in the town that really knows its coffee.
