Andrew Stoner has an Impressive Political and Business Career

Andrew Stoner, a former New South Wales MP, has a rich political career. He was born in 1960. He completed his Bachelor’s of Business from the Queensland Institute of Technology in 1985. He then went to the James Cook University of North Queensland for a Master’s in Business Administration which he obtained in 1993. After completing his studies, he was an employment agency manager and regional manager in the Australian Public Service. In 1999, he became a member of New South Wales Legislative Assembly and represented Oxley. Later, he was selected in place of George Souris, and served as the Leader of the New South Wales National Party from 2003 to 2014. The party won the 2011 state election by a majority of 51 seats.
Andrew Stoner contributed to New South Wales’ growth in exports and inward investment by leading the government’s international engagement strategy, including trade missions and the establishment of trade offices in priority markets. In addition, he also supervised over $13 billion of infrastructure investment in regional NSW including rail, road and water infrastructure, increasing the productivity of regional industries including agriculture and mining.
After resigning from politics in 2015, he became a business professional. Presently, he is serving as the director of his own consulting business, Andrew Stoner & Associates Pty Ltd. His firm offers advice for investments including in agribusiness, property, infrastructure and SME’s; export strategy; investor and business migration; stakeholder relations; communications, including media management; relevant social and cultural issues; and government regulations. In addition to this, he is also serving as Director of Sports Aviation Flight College Australia Ltd., Director of Aquaculture Industries Australia Ltd., Director of Slasherteck Ltd, Patron of the Australia China Economic, Trade and Cultural Association, Advisory Board Member at NSW Leaders, and Senior Adviser at Moelis and Company.
As a Senior Adviser of Moelis & Co. Andrew Stoner visited Shanghai, Xiamen and Beijing to explain the Australian Government's new Significant Investor Visa (SIV) rules and outline Moelis' fully compliant SIV funds. The regulatory changes are good for investors and for Australia's economy.
In addition to his career, he also gives great importance to his personal life. He believes in living life to the fullest. His hobbies include surfboarding, tennis, golf and traveling. In addition, he is a benevolent person and supports various charity causes in Australia such as Life Education, Save the Brumbies, St. Vincent de Paul, etc.
