This article will help those young animators who want to build their carrier in animation field. Animation is the process of creating illusion of motion and shape change by means of the rapid display of a sequence of static images that minimally differ from each other and we animators are specialized in the creation of animation.

As the time changes the things will come up with some new advancement but in animation field some concept will never change. It will be same from the beginning. With the time it is getting more interesting. Below are the few tips and tricks which can help one to develop and sharpen the concepts regarding animation:

  1. Story creation: This is the first stage of any animation because without a story, animation cannot be done and for the story a creative mind is needed who can think out of box because we cannot just copy paste the same story line from the different sources. While writing a story we always have to keep in mind the number of characters’ background design and camera shots while having all these things in mind we can create an awesome award winning story for the animation movie.
  2. Story board: Being an animator there should be an art of pre-visualizing the motion picture, animation, motion graphic or interactive media sequence before the composition of the story.

Story board is the second step to move forward in animation film movie. After story creation, story board artist visualize the camera, angel, shots and movements before final animation. Story board is required till the movie completes. The animation team study the story board and start.

  1. Character design: knowledge of art works here. How much interesting the animation will be depending on the type and design of the character. The role of a character animator is just like the role of film actor/actress in a movie. Characters are the sole of any animated movie and an experience animator can only think of designing the characters in a well form and each and every character should differ from each other. To design a character an animator should have knowledge of character design.
  2. Character animation: Character animation is a specialized field in animation process which involves bringing animated characters to life. After designing a character in 3 D it should be provided with motion as per the story board this helps bringing the animation alive and with motion.
  3. Background design: Background design is needed for the identification of the location which has been virtually imagined e.g. whether its school or road or office or a pub or space or moon surface. Characters cannot just float on the screen it should be supported with the background design to show the complete story so background design is equally important like characters of the animated story.
  4. Special effect: Illusion of the eye used in the film, television, theatre, video game and simulator industries to stimulate the imagined events in a story or virtual world. Special effects are abbreviated as SFX, SPFX or FX. Computer generated special effects since the 1990’s helped to develop imaginary effects of low cost with less time consuming and with no harm to human which Was previously happening during the live stunt. Special effects divided into two main categories: mechanical effect and optical effect.

Mechanical effect also called physical effect example includes wind, rain, fog, snow, clouds, making a car appear to drive itself or blowing up a building. Optical effects also called photographic effect are techniques in which images or films frames are created photographically.

7. Props design: A props stand for property, is an object used on screen by actors (in animation by characters) during a performance or screen production. E.g. scenery, costumes, electrical equipment’s, sword, gun, table, chair, pen, book and consumable things food items.
