The long awaited sample test for CAT 2015 has been released and available for attempt on the official website of the exam. The test was made live by CAT 2015 centre on October 29, 2015.

With only a month left for CAT exam, the test would be a perfect guide for the preparation. 2.18 lakh aspirants who registered for the exam had been waiting for the CAT centre to release the official sample test as it would govern the strategic changes they need to introduce in the preparation plans.

The test comprises of 100 questions split across the 3 sections that have to be solved within 180 minutes – just like the actual and revised CAT 2015 exam pattern. By attempting the sample test aspirants would get familiarized with the new pattern, functionality and the navigation, therefore one must solve the test to be better prepared for the exam.

Along with the test, tools for how to attempt the exam are also available on the official website. Aspirants must go through them; this would give them a clear understanding of the dos and don’ts while appearing for the exam.

To attempt the test one must have the roll number and password given in the admit card, only then the sample test will be accessible.

CAT exam has a legacy of popping surprises and therefore aspirants must be prepared to face the biggest of all times. They must solve the sample test and thereafter conduct an error analysis. By identifying the strong and weak areas one must bring the required changes in the preparation strategy. For example if one scores better in Quantitative Aptitude and low in Logical Reasoning, the focus should be laid on preparing the Logical Reasoning concepts well.

Cat 2015 is the only gateway to study at one of the 19 IIMs. After the initial screening based on the CAT scores IIMs conduct Written Ability Test (WAT), Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI) for the final selection. Candidates must try to keep themselves updated on the cut offs that the IIMs release. CAT 2015 result is expected to be declared in the second week of January, 2016, while the cut offs will be released in February, 2016.
