Why you Should add Denim Leggings to your Wardrobe
Posted: Dec 29, 2015
Jeans have been a staple in fashion for decades, always with a new incarnation. The latest trend involving jean material is denim leggings. Many women have jumped on board, replacing their skinny jeans with the more comfortable denim leggings. If you are considering whether or not to add some to your wardrobe, the following should help you make your decision.
Jeggings, Skinny Jeans, or Denim Leggings?
You may have heard of a few different terms that could describe denim leggings, including skinny jeans and jeggings. Skinny jeans are made with more denim, making them less flexible and often not as comfortable. Jeggings and leggings made from denim or more or less the same thing. Jeggings tend to also have zippers, buttons, and pockets while you may find some leggings made from denim that do not have these features.
Versatile
One of the best reasons to buy some denim leggings is simply because they are a versatile piece. Like other jeans, they can be super casual when paired with t-shirts and sneakers or sandals and become dressier when paired with a nicer tunic and heels. They can also be worn almost anywhere and at anytime of the year. You can wear them under a dress with some boots for a cute winter outfit or pair them with a sleeveless tunic and flip flops during the summer.
Comfortable
The reason that denim leggings have become so popular is that they look great while being comfortable. Because they are made with stretchy material, they can be much more flexible and comfortable than regular jeans, especially skinny jeans. However, because they are made from denim rather than cotton or tight material, they can look a bit classier than regular leggings.
They Work on All Figures
Denim leggings may be skin tight, but that does not mean you have to be skinny with no curves to rock the look. With the right outfit, curvy girls can also take advantage, too. Those who are self-conscious should opt for dark denim or black, as this can be more slimming and will not attract the attention other washes do. If you are bottom heavy, then match them with colorful tops that draw attention, flatter your body shape, and fall to around mid-thigh. You can also find leggings that are a bit looser or feature a straight leg cut so that they are not quite as tight on you and appear a little more like jeans rather than leggings. It may take you some time to find that right pair of leggings for your body size, but it is possible to rock the style and flatter your body no matter what your figure is.
Even though they are made from the same material as jeans, you should still follow the legging rule with denim leggings even if you have a great figure. It is best to pair them with dresses, skirts, or long tunics so that at least your behind and hip area are covered. With that in mind, you can find the perfect outfits to match with your Jennings so that you can easily rock this stylish, versatile, and comfortable look that can work with every body size.
