Regular explorers, travelers, climbers and even first timers get excited and enthused when they attempt a Tibet Trek. You can reach the region by taking the Kathmandu to Lhasa flight or the Xining to Lhasa train. The train is preferred by many people as the gradual climb helps them get acclimatized to the high altitude faster. If you take a flight, you might find it extremely difficult to get used to altitude and fall sick. You can then take a day’s rest before you begin your trek. You can also take the train from Shanghai to Tibet or the Shanghai to Lhasa flight, if you are travelling to Tibet from China. You can also take the Beijing to Lhasa train or flight. You can also take the Chengdu to Lhasa route to reach your destination.

The Tibet Trek can begin by walking amidst the Himalayan range and trekking along to the sound of yak bells. As you walk along the lovely valley, the trek can uncover a whole new vista for you and your psyche. You will most likely meet a couple of Buddhist monks and get to hear anecdotes of ancient Tibetan culture and Buddhism. If you are fit enough the chances are that the trek will be very reasonable and simple. But it is always better to follow a few tips to make your expedition enjoyable and safe too. Make a list of these points so that you consider these before you take up the trek.

Consult your doctor before taking the Kathmandu to Lhasa flight or any other flight or train to Tibet. Consult your doctor about taking any kind of medication for any altitude sickness that you might suffer from at greater heights. You should get the prescription for the medication and also learn about the risks, side effects and benefits of the medicine to. During the trek keep yourself hydrated and eat energizing snacks and meals every couple of hours. Get all the necessary medical and travel insurance. It is best to get enough insurance cover for repatriation and activity. It is advisable not to take up the Tibet trek if you feel symptoms of mountain sickness even slightly. The symptoms usually are fatigue, headache, and sleep disturbance, shortness of breath or loss of appetite. Take a break and recover well before beginning your trek.

It is also advisable not to undertake any Tibet trek alone – either go with friends or hire a porter or guide to trek along with you. Tibet and Everest trekking should be undertaken during summer of autumn, as the sky will be clear and the weather will be comfortably warm. It is however advisable to carry enough warm garments with you for the trek as irrespective of the weather, it is advisable to stay warm in all kinds of weather. Research and ensure that the trekking or holiday company you are booking is genuine and reputed.
