When you hear someone talk about Orlando, the first thing that comes to mind usually is Disney World. But there are a lot of other Florida Attractions Near Orlando as well. Here are 5 other attractions which are not connected to Disney in any way:

Islands of Adventure

This attraction is a part of Universal Studios complex and is situated next to Universal Studios. Hollywood director, Steven Spielberg is the creative consultant who helped with the design of Jurassic World and it is spectacular. You should make it a point to get there as early as you can since it does get a little busy as the day goes on.

Lines can be quite long in season and it would make sense for you to add the Universal fast pass. This allows you to schedule rides in advance. This will mean less time spent waiting in line. Islands of Adventure is a fantastic attraction and tops a number of theme park listings.

Discovery Cove

This is the place to be for anyone who has dreamed of swimming with the dolphins. It offers two options one is the swim option and the other is the non-swim option. The entrance to this park is on the Central Florida Parkway. It's a great tropical experience with reef diving and snorkeling among the main attractions.

There's a lazy river which winds its way through the park which allows you to take in all the sights and sounds of the lagoon while relaxing and floating in the river. It is considered among the most relaxing and peaceful adventure destinations in the world. And since they never admit more than 1,000 people at any point in time, you are never going to feel like the place is too crowded.

SeaWorld

Turtles, sharks, killer whales, dolphins and penguins are just a few of the marine wonders which you can find at SeaWorld. It offers a terrific insight into various aspects of marine life which will amaze anyone and everyone. The rides are amazing. Some of the best include the Kraken, Journey Atlantis, Manta and Wild Arctic. The food is terrific and most people would recommend this as the first place you visit in Orlando.

Universal Studios

Universal Studios is where the movies come to life. You will find a number of famous characters wandering around the park and the recording studio is still functioning. They are still making television programs there and it is a must visit for movie fans. You will truly be able to enjoy the special effects more than anywhere else. It is home to some of the most thrilling rides in the world. You can learn how some classic movies were made. So it's a learning experience unlike any other.

Gatorland

The last entry on this list is far away from the busy commercial attractions of Orlando. It is one of Orlando's original attractions. It will introduce you to crocodiles and alligators like never before. And not just the American species but jungle crocs too. It is so much fun for kids too with Alligator Alley being home to a number of tortoises, llama, deer, goats, and emus.
