Office Ideas: How to Create a Stylish Workspace
Posted: Apr 19, 2016
Who said office spaces need to be dull and boring? Ask one of the office space interior designers and decorators in Bangalore, and you’ll know all about good design.
- Jazz up the seating arrangement
Think out of the box, and you will have an office space that will liven up your day. One of the first changes is to think of seating arrangements that are different and encourage brainstorming. Lounge chairs, bean bags and low seating can all be part of the mix. You could also use coffee tables around which co-workers can gather and have a chat. These can be used to partition different parts/departments of the office as well. Everyone will appreciate these breakout areas.
- Line up art on the wall
Use a lot of wall art such as framed old photos and posters. Get colourful handprints of your employees/co-workers either on one wall of the office or on a large canvas and hang it on a wall. This not only adds a personal touch to the office space but also livens up the atmosphere.
- Spice up your meeting room
The meeting area or conference room need not exactly be a stern grey boring pace. Liven up the space by using a nice round table with some flowers in a vase, a couple of magazines, and a whiteboard. Use an old-fashioned blackboard and chalk to write out quirky or inspirational messages. You could also have a tiny library in a corner by stacking up books on an old wooden box, for instance.
- A theme for a dream
Ask one of the office space interior designers and decorators in Bangalore to use a theme for the office. How about an office space broadly designed along the lines of a website? You can create Internet-related motifs and symbols; create an ‘About us’ section where you can put up photos of your management team. You can also create a real physical wall along the lines of a social media channel like FB or Twitter.
- We could all do with colour
Office spaces need not necessarily be grey or black/white. You could use a pop of bright yellow, green or red in your colour scheme. The pop of colours could be in the form of decor items, knick-knacks, art on the wall, cushions, carpets, upholstery etc.
Other tips for a stylish workspace
- Your employees and co-workers also need sunlight for greater productivity. Use skylights and allow natural light to filter in and create crisscross patterns of sunlight on walls and floors. Also ensure there are plenty of windows dressed up stylishly.
- When it gets blindingly bright or too sunny, you could use shades and curtains made of natural material like bamboo strips or grass.
- You could do with some greenery as well. Use potted plants at strategic points; create a vertical green wall in your office to make it look stylish and different.
- Use the services of a professional interior designer/decorator who draws inspiration from world-class office spaces to make your office really stylish.
