Lenovo has designed its products that are complimentary to Windows 8 OS. The touch devices that are launched by Lenovo are enough to say that this company has indeed kept up with the latest trend. The designs and the experimentation with its products are fascinating as well as interesting to technology users world over. Now with the latest Yoga 2 Pro, there is again more than what meets the eye. Let us find out what this latest hybrid is all about.

About Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro

Undoubtedly, Yoga 2 is a tweaked version or the evolved version of IdeaPad Yoga 13. The chassis of this hybrid is thin measuring 0.61 inches thickness and weighs 3 pounds. The resolution of its screen measures 3200 x1800 pixels of resolution. The best part about the Yoga 2 is its ability to shape shift or the flexibility factor of the form. The screen is flexible to be folded in different modes that can be used as a tablet. Even though it is still a notebook PC but you can detach its keyboard and use its touchscreen.

The hardware specifications include the following:

  • Processor Core i3
  • 4GB RAM
  • 128GB internal storage
  • Price starting at $1,050

How different than Yoga 13?

After knowing this you must be wondering how different Yoga 2 Pro is from its predecessor the Yoga 13. There are some visible differences when it comes to comparing both. The battery for instance was not strong and capable to deliver good backup when used in the tablet mode, this has been fixed in the latest Yoga version. Interestingly, the high resolution in the Yoga 2 Pro seems great but for a user it is difficult to tell any difference in resolution. Nonetheless, the additional 1080p does make a difference when you are interested in watching videos and streaming clips.

Things like battery performance is essential for any traveler, so while you are performing basic tasks with 50% brightness it will last till 6 hours. All thanks to the high resolution that Lenovo has added in the Yoga 2 Pro.

The Good and Bad of Yoga 2 Pro

As a tablet, the Yoga 2 Pro with 13-inch screen does seem massive if you are attempting to use it as a tablet especially with keyboard folded backwards. However, if you use it in Stand mode you will feel more comfortable using it with keyboard face down while it is on your lap. Additionally, the large screen comes as an advantage as you get more space for performing touch functionality.

Things like its trackpad might seem a bit irksome for an average user who is looking for smoother touch. For mouse click functionality you again need to use both the fingers or click the lower right corner to register mouse clicks. Even the keyboard seems annoying at times as the shallow keys takes time for any user to adjust and enter text accurately. Other things like auto- screen brightness and the notification noise might seem annoying at times. However, you do get manual with instructions on adjusting the brightness level but for those who are in a hurry might leave it the way it is.

Verdict

In conclusion all that can be said about Lenovo’s Yoga 2 Pro is that the hybrid is worth purchasing. It is better than its predecessor and you might really like to work upon it. The flexible screen with various modes is fascinating and easy to use without any hassle.
