International flights to Nigeria land at Lagos and then you can hire a car for a tour of this country. Among Nigeria’s major attractions is the Yankari game reserve; it is a popular tourist spot. It is a two day drive from Lagos, stock up on fuel and provisions for this long drive. There are the Wiki warm springs in the vicinity. Both the game reserve and the warm springs are situated near the Gagi River. They are around a ninety minutes drive from the town of Bauchi. Roads along the route are well tarred, a major bonus for driving in African lands.

Along the route there are petrol and provision stores mainly in the Wiki Camp and Bauchi town. One can add to the stock at these places. The first night halt is made ideally at Abuja after leaving Lagos. The next day morning one can head towards Yankari, enroute are Jos and Bauchi. On reaching this scenic game reserve one is enamored by the utter beauty of the place. The wildlife at the reserve is equally varied; there is the white rhinoceros, the mighty elephants, the graceful antelope and the buffalo. Lions too have been spotted by the occasional visitor. The huge saddle back stork is a prominent member of the wildlife population here.
