MAT: Revamping MBA entrance exams

Management Aptitude Test (MAT) is a PAN India management entrance exam. The test scores of MAT Exam are used by 600+ B-Schools across the nation. MAT exam scores are not only for MBA programmes but also for PGDM and allied management programmes. MAT exam is hosted by All India Management Association (AIMA). MAT is exam is ideal for candidates who are into their last year of graduations, or they are working because a candidate can give up to four exams in a year which is not possible in any other Management entrance exam. Due to the quarterly exam pattern, MAT provides an extra cushion to these candidates.

MAT has held four times in a year: February, May, September, and December. MAT exam dates and other details are notified three months before the exam. MAT has its influence on leading B-Schools of the country who are well known for their Pst Graduate programs in the field of Business administration. Institute of Business Management & Technology, Alliance Business School, Apex Institute of Management, are few of the top colleges in the list.

For this year the last exam will be held on 11th December 2016. The last date for registering for December-MAT 2016 is November 29. The first exam of MAT 2017 will be in February. The Paper Based Test will be on 5th February 2017, and the Computer Based Test will take place on 10th February 2017.

MAT Eligibility

Applicant should be Graduates in any discipline.

The applicant can be a final year graduation student.

There is no age limit for MAT Exams.

MAT Exam Pattern

MAT exam have five different sections I.e Critical Reasoning and Indian and Global Environment, Data Analysis and Sufficiency, Mathematical Skills and Intelligence &Language Comprehension,

there will be 40 question in each section that means there will be 400 question

Total duration for the MAT exam is 150 minutes

candidates will face negative marking for every wrong answer, for every wrong answer they would loose 0.25 marks and each correct answer will give them one mark

MAT Exam Procedure

Apply online on the official website of AIMA I.e link: http://apps.aima.in/matdec16

the last date for online registration is 29th November 2016

The application fee for MAT 2016 Rs 1200 (One thousand two hundred only). Candidates can Pay the fee through any one of three following modes:

Online Payment: through Credit Card/ Debit Card or Net Banking.

Demand Draft: candidates can get a demand draft of Rs 1200 in favor fo ‘All India Management Association’ payable at Delhi from any bank and register later on with the Demand Draft details. Cash: Candidates can get a form from any listed Nodal Centres of AIMA OR from AIMA, New Delhi after paying Rs 1200.

Candidates who would opt for an online test or computer-based test can choose the date and time slot according to their choice and availability. At the time of registration, candidates need to mention in details of five management institutes of his choice so that MAT scores can be directly sent to these institutes.

Admit Card

Candidates can download their MAT Exam Admit card for 2016 December from AIMA website from 3rd December 2016 onwards. Separate admit cards will be issued for candidates who opted for the paper-based test and the computer-based test. Mat Admit card contains the candidate’s name, form no, test date, roll no, exam time and exam venue address. For computer-based test, candidates have to follow the date and time allotted strictly.

Candidates can download their admit cards from the official website. MAT admit cards are not dispatched.
