Breaded chicken is a popular evening meal in many households. However, if you fancy a crunchier and tastier treat, you should consider this American Cheetos Chicken. You can use any Cheetos crunchy varieties, so if you prefer a little heat, why not try the Flamin Hot.

Ingredients:

180 grams of American Cheetos

30 grams of grated parmesan cheese

35 grams of flour

  • teaspoon salt

Two chicken breasts

One egg

Method:

Crush your American Cheetos into fine crumbs. This can be done in a food processor or by sealing them into a bag and bashing it with your rolling pin. Mix in the Parmesan cheese and pour the mixture out into a shallow bowl or plate.

In another shallow dish, mix together the flour and salt. In a third bowl beat the egg.

Coat the chicken breasts in the flour before dipping in the egg. Coat the chicken in the Cheeto crumbs.

Place your American Cheeto chicken on a greased baking tray and bake for approximately forty minutes at 180Âșc. The precise cooking time will depend according to the thickness of your chicken. Be sure to check that your chicken is completely cooked through before serving.

Alternatives:

This American Cheetos coating can be used for most of your favourite breaded recipes. You can use it to coat chicken wings or nuggets, pork chops or even seafood. While you may want to avoid using Flamin Hot varieties on certain more delicate flavours, the cheesy flavour of original American Cheetos will complement a variety of different dishes. You will need to adjust your cooking times accordingly, but this coating will cook in a similar time to standard breadcrumb coating, just take care not to allow the crumbs to overcook as they are more likely to burn. This will require a little attention to detail especially if you are using the red Flamin Hot varieties, as it may be a little tricky to see the colour change until it is too late!

Serving Suggestions:

To complement the American Cheetos coating on your meat, it is a good idea to serve with a creamy dressing or dip. Ranch dressing or sour cream and herb work very well. However, if you want a hotter dish, you can team a Flamin Hot dish with a spicy salsa. This can take an average family dinner into something really special. This coating will also make average finger food into something that little bit different. So, when you are planning an informal party or barbecue, you may want to consider serving American Cheetos chicken wings. Kids will enjoy Cheetos Crunchy chicken nuggets with a delicious dipping sauce.
