This year, so far, has been riotous for mobiles, from slowing sales to exploding devices, rapid advancement in chatbots, digital assistant and virtual reality. Brands, regardless of their app’s sort and size, haven’t experienced more difficulties ever before.

Other issues like unique and personalized features as well as fragmentation in devices have caused more challenges. A new vision of computing experience is emerging connecting users to related information more flawlessly. But not all brands looming do have capabilities in their apps to stand here.

All these issues have put marketers in doubts that whether they need to build apps or something like chatbots to derive user-engagement or they still need to wait to see what works better than other.

With new emerging waves, apps is not neglected from being a gold standard as many users now able to understand them but as users need more engagement while choosing brand or with an already chosen brand, chatbots and digital assistance are too capturing attention. This is of course a difficult phase for new mobile application development companies which have not earned enough experience in technology & trend ups and downs.

Businesses, for sure, need reaching mobile users as reports are coming from reliable sources like eMarketer and comScore. Mobile commerce is expected to account for 32% of the total online sales this year; it is 6% up from 2015, according to eMarketer. Users are spending more than half of all their online time on mobile apps, according to a latest report from comScore.

As of Forrester’s research, apps are still too much popular but, most of the users are spending significant amount of their time just with five social media and messaging apps. So in spite of spending millions of dollars in creating fantastic apps, breaking through new ones is still too hard.

Declining engagement of users in apps -- excepting the popular once like Facebook, Messenger, Instagram, and Snapchat -- is the reason why many businesses are showing interest in building chatbots on Facebook Messenger and other messaging apps. The conception is that brands can have one more accessing-channel where users are actually spending much of their time nowadays.

Chatbots are the best tool for quick interaction whereas users feel too much friction to open an app for doing something. But remember, chat-bots do not also fit every brand-need. This technology is still in the early stage and we can expect more things to come as experienced mobile application development companies say.

Let’s see what future unfolds for these chatbots.
