Thousands of examinees would appear in the exam this December to get admitted into one of the best MBA courses. The attempt in the MAT exam would not only boost your confidence in the other MBA entrance exams that are coming up, but also be an efficient tool to help you gauge your position in terms of quality and quantum of preparation.

The main doubt of students has been how to prepare in the shortest time of a week or 10 days and ways to increase the score. Your preparation strategy is to be aligned with the mode of the exam that you take up be it paper-based or computer-based.

  • Do not begin anything new: During the span of a week or 10 days before the exam, a student must not begin anything new and concentrate on whatever has already been prepared or studied.
  • Mock tests to be analyzed: Your performance in mock test should be analyzed to determine your competency level in all the sections of
Mat 2016. This would also help you gain clarity as to the areas you must concentrate on and wherever you might require to improve before the exam. A notes prepared for the purpose of a quick referral would be relevant to ensure consistent revision and improvement.

  • Fix your attempt strategy: Once you are clear with what you want to attempt and you approach the exam in a similar way, your attempt becomes more effective and focused on whatever you wanted to achieve.
  • Increase the difficulty level of your attempts: For the first attempt in MAT, attempt only those which are easy and to your level of understanding. Beyond that, you may attempt slightly more difficult questions and extend your comfort zone to attempt even those that are not your strengths and beyond your competency levels.
  • Look through the negative marking: Don’t attempt unnecessarily beyond your domain or comfort level. If you attempt 4 questions and 2 get wrong, you lose 1 mark unnecessarily.
  • Scan the previous year papers: Go through the previous year papers to understand the pattern of questioning and to make you comfortable in the exam orbit. You could easily determine the probability of questions appearing and prepare accordingly.
  • Manage your time: Do not get stuck on a question that you would not be able to answer and hence work on that accordingly.
