Posted: Dec 08, 2016
Every year about lakhs of candidates appear for CAT 2016 with a dream of seeking admission into one of the best B-schools. Getting a high percentile in CAT is the only key for all the candidates to help them gain entry into reputed IIMs and other institutes of equal recognition. The result would be available in online mode and would not be sent personally to any candidate to avoid technical glitches on that front.
The CAT result would be furnishing the following:
- Scaled scores for total scores and section-wise
- Percentile section-wise and total-wise
On basis of the details released on the cut-off by way of a notification released by IIMs and CAT exam, the candidates would be taken to the next level.
As per the CAT exam marking scheme, the answers would be checked and a total score would get likely to be determined. The score is adjusted by way of equating across various sections. The equated scores would then be converted into percentiles. Along with the percentile obtained in CAT, the past academic record of the candidate, work experience are taken into consideration for the purpose of short-listing at various stages of the admission procedure.
Effective this session onwards, IIMs are looking forward to build a batch of MBA students from varied backgrounds in addition to engineering and with presence of more female candidates to make good quality post-graduate education available to everyone. The selection procedure for IIMs is a lengthy task and requires a lot of preparation. It includes a written test and a Personal Interview Round except for IIM-K and IIM- S where there is also a GD.
The documents that are required for the purpose of verifying eligibility are as follows:
- Mark sheets and degree certificates
- In case of reservation category, certificates evidencing the same.
- You are also required to submit an attested copy of the certificate obtained specifying the fulfillment of required marks.
In comparison to the last year, 82% of the candidates registered had written the exam, it had risen to 83% this year who have attempted the exam which has made the exam authorities optimistic. All the best for the results!
